Loco for Retro Shades Sunglasses

Over the years, ShadyVEU has sought to empower creative individuals like yourself to express timeless fashion with quality, affordable eyewear. We believe that retro shades sunglasses can do more than just protect your vision, they influence your growth and inspire your individuality. What started as a need for vision & protection, revolutionized into a brand that keeps you stylish, protected and philanthropic.

Summer is over. and we are all embarking on our 2020 prep missions for the last trimester of the year. We want to be ready for the best time of the year; the holiday season! And, the one item guaranteed to be included in all of our holiday preparation packs this time around is a pair (or two or three…) of up-to-date, stylish sunglasses. And…drumbeat please…the hottest eyewear trend of 2019 is the retro, 90’s inspired tiny sunglasses style!

These glasses are durable and so easy to wear. Our retro sunnies come in so many different styles-from teardrop-shaped to mirrored lens sunglasses to crooked sunglasses; there is a pair of glasses for every occasion! Not only are our stylish sunnies for flauntin’, but these are also able to block UV rays that may cause damage to your eyes and help protect them from harmful effects. And if you think a wide-brimmed hat or a snow cap is enough to block out these harmful rays, think again: snow, water, dry sand, and seafoam are all able to reflect the sun’s UV rays back up into your face, making sunglasses necessary for protecting your eyes.

But how do you know what kind of sunglasses are right for you?

For starters, you want to get mirrored visor sunglasses that fit you properly, so they actually cover your eyes. Look at the guidelines for fitting regular glasses for an idea of what size to look for. Second, look for wrap-around sunglasses so that you can be protected from the sides as well as the front.

In addition to this, you’ll want to look for sunglasses that block UVA and UVB rays between 290 and 400 nanometers (this should be indicated on the glasses, or someone at the store should be able to tell you). Remember, the hue of the sunglass lenses has nothing to do with UV protection - that is entirely your preference!

Overall, ShadyVEU has got your VEUs protected, all you have to do is choose the perfect style for you!

A Week in Blue Light Blocking Glasses

I’ve never heard of blue light blocking glasses before. Until I saw one from ShadyVEU’s line of blue light pilot shape eyeglasses. I was curious so I did further research about it.

I realized that I had a problem: For my job, I needed to spend a minimum of eight hours a day staring at a computer screen. Plus, in my downtime after work, I would often find myself staring at another, smaller screen: the rectangle of my iPhone, which would consistently beam more blue light into my face.

My eyes were so red and tired at the end of the day; and wouldn't feel the ache begin to lift until I finally turned off my devices. According to The Vision Council, 200 million Americans report symptoms of digital eye strain and eye discomfort which can be caused from looking at a screen for more than two hours at a time. Until fairly recently, humans were mostly exposed to natural light during the day and darkness at night. But now we're constantly bathing in artificial light, most of it blue. Too much exposure to blue light at night suppresses the secretion of melatonin, a hormone that regulates sleep cycles.

When I saw ShadyVEU’s collection, I realized that blue light blocking reading glasses don’t have to be ugly. Their glasses filter out the higher end of the blue light spectrum, so the lens don't look yellow. They also add an anti-glare coating on top to cut down on digital eye strain. The glasses are also adorably chic.

Another benefit that I got from wearing blue light blocking glasses is that it made me more aware of my screen time. When I’m driving, I only usually wear my prescription glasses. I found that when I had to wear my blue light glasses every time I was looking at a screen, it made me more aware of just how often I was looking at a screen. I found myself surprised by how often I pulled out my laptop after I got home from work, or just mindlessly scrolled through my phone. As a result, I found myself getting more intentional about putting the phone away, and actually sat on the porch and read more in the evenings. Even though my eyes were still working by looking at the pages of a book, giving them a rest from one more screen (the one I would typically be watching Netflix on) helped a ton, and I slept better afterwards.

In conclusion, wearing them was totally worth it. Glasses like these are small miracles. My eyes felt more rested at the end of the day (probably from the reduced screen time and glare) and looked visibly less red and tired. Plus, I got tons of compliments on my new glasses.

Do Glasses Help Eye Strain?

Blue light blocking glasses are special-purpose eyeglasses meant to optimize your eyesight when you're looking at digital screens. They're designed to: reduce glare (a major cause of eyestrain), increase contrast, and maximize what you see through the lenses—making it easier to look at a screen for longer periods of time. Here are the two main features you'll see in glasses like these. Mostly, this problem is solved by taking your blue light blocking reading glasses everywhere.

The best computer glasses to prevent eye strain could be either prescription computer glasses or non-prescription computer glasses with mandatory having anti-reflective and anti-blue light blocking coating. When you work continuously on a computer screen for extended hours, your delicate eyes become tired, strained, teary and weak. Anti-reflective coating in glasses prevents reflections on the glass lens surface from hindering the vision and enhance more light to pass through the glasses, ensuring better visual clarity. Whereas, blue light blocking reading glasses for computer blocks the harmful blue light emitted from digital sources such as a computer, laptop, mobile, tablet, TV, etc. When both these coatings are applied on computer glasses, eyes do not strain.

If you have nearsightedness and/or farsightedness, then prescription glasses with the anti-glare and anti-blue light coating will be beneficial. Else, if your vision is normal, then you can wear easily available non-prescription computer glasses with an anti-glare and anti-blue light coating. However, efforts should be made to select the best quality computer glasses with both the above mentioned coatings.

ShadyVEU is a one-stop online source for all your glasses requirement. Each pair of glasses manufactured at ShadyVEU goes through strict three points quality assurance check, to guarantee maximum comfort and protection to our eyes. When you order a new pair of glasses from ShadyVEU glasses, you get scratch resistance, anti-UV, anti-reflective and anti-blue light benefits.

There are several types of lenses for you to choose from. Plastic is usually a thick material that is not shatterproof or impact resistant.  It’s an older technology and is often the least expensive option.

Polycarbonate is thinner and lighter than plastic, and also offers the benefit of UV protection.  From a safety and durability perspective, it is shatterproof and impact resistant. It is often the best choice for children and youth. Polarized lenses are both a safe and comfortable option for outdoor protection of your eyes, with the combination of UV protection and glare reduction. Photochromic lenses will automatically adjust from clear to dark when you go outdoors, and will revert back when you return indoors. They typically darken within a minute of exposure to bright light and take somewhat longer to clear. No-glare lenses virtually eliminate reflections and the halos around streetlights and headlights. Also, artificial light in an office environment can lead to eye fatigue, and these lenses can help reduce eyestrain associated with computer work and fluorescent lighting. Digitally surfaced lenses are customized for your specific needs and are especially beneficial for progressive lens wearers.  Similar to the difference between standard and high-definition television, digitally surfaced lenses can help provide a more crisp and sharper vision.

Some colored frame sunglasses can also have blue-light blocking qualities that not only would help you block out that harmful glare, it can also reflect your own personality based on the color of your choice.

With today’s wide range of styles, shapes, lenses and functionality, choosing the right pair of glasses can be fun as well as practical.  With the ever growing connection to the fashion world, sometimes one pair is not enough when considered an accessory in your wardrobe.  You may also choose eye strain glasses for everyday wear, computer glasses or perhaps reading glasses.

90’s Retro Sunglasses: a Comeback or a Backlash?

ShadyVEU carries a wide variety of 90's retro eyewear. We carry many styles of vintage inspired, funky, hip & 90s retro sunglasses. As seen in today's elite celebs, this retro style is back and better than ever. From super tiny small frames to color tinted lenses and unique shapes, this collection has everything you need for your 90's glasses shopping needs.

Trends are recycled every 20 years, and right now, the 90’s are having a huge comeback. They are spotted everywhere on runways, social media and Instagram.

What are the typical '90s retro sunglasses silhouettes you may ask? Here’s a quick rundown of our favorite looks back-in-the-day. We've got the lowdown on the influences behind this season's most coveted shades, from Kurt Cobain's bug-eyed pair to Matrix-inspired sci-fi sunglasses. What’s great about this trend is not only can you wear it over the summer, you can also wear it during fall season!

Here are the typical 90’s retro eyewear silhouettes that are making a comeback:

Tinted
Sure, you may associate tinted specs with the '70s, but the 2017 refresh has been heavily influenced by the '90s: Think of the shades rappers like Eve and Lil' Kim used to wear, or the 1998 film Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Though Johnny Depp's character Raoul Duke spun around the Nevada desert in a Hawaiian shirt and yellow-tinted, wire-framed sunglasses, this statement-making pair has no official dress code.

Oval
You've probably seen the minimalist oval pair on everyone from Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid to Selena Gomez, but these micro shades are a staple of nearly every '90s fashion throwback. Then-couple Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Pitt worked matching pairs, while Jennifer Aniston's were the perfect accompaniment to her staple tank top and cargo trousers. Beverly Hills 90210's Kelly Taylor regularly sported a pair of oval oversized designer sunglasses, and who can forget Mary-Kate and Ashley's matching oversized fashion statements?

Kurt Cobain
Celebrity photographer Jesse Frohman shot Nirvana in '93 — just five months before Kurt Cobain death — producing what would become a much-referenced image: the leopard-print jacket, the trapper hat, and most importantly, the sunglasses. A hybrid of Jackie O. shades and bug-eyes, the cartoonish white frames became the focal point of one of the most famous shots of the Nirvana frontman. We saw the return of this pair in Saint Laurent's spring/summer '16collection, which paid homage to Cobain with cardigans and plaid shirts. Here’s what frohman said: “It was the only time I photographed him and Nirvana...” Froman told Rolling Stone. “We had set up for a shooting NewYork when they were going to perform at Roseland Ballroom, so we had the whole day to shoot. That was the original assignment, but, of course, things didn’t turn out the way we planned.” Harry Styles and Pharrell followed suit, and it wasn't long before Rihanna, and bloggers like Chiara Ferragni, embraced it, too.

Cat-Eye
You can thank Adam Selman for the return of these sunglasses. A fresh take on the shape of old Hollywood glamour, the new cat-eye shades are almost futuristic. Everyone from Gigi Hadid to Adwoa Aboah has been fighting the sun with a pair from Selman's Le Specs collaboration. But back in '99, Julia Roberts was wearing these glasses with a black beret and leather jacket as Anna Scott in Notting Hill. Now, designers from Fendi to Max Mara have styled models with the angular specs, while fans of the look range from Olivia Palermo to Solange.

The Matrix
You will already know by now (if not, why not) that the aesthetics of The Matrix is back, and pretty much everywhere in fashion. Remember the super-thin glasses worn by Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss in 1999's The Matrix? This season, the hacker-cum-activist look returned, in large part thanks to Demna Gvasalia's Balenciaga fall/winter '17 show, where models with cropped hair donned inch-thick glasses that gave an almost wraparound look.

Overall, if you’replanning to go on a one way trip down memory lane, buying a pair of ShadyVEU Sunglasses is perfect! Not only do we sell 90’s retro sunglasses, but we also have a version of children sunglasses! KeepitShady!

Choosing the Right Children’s Sunglasses are as Important as Choosing One for Your Adult Self!

Too much sun can significantly increase a person’s risk of cataracts, macular degeneration the other eye problems later in life. This risk depends on one’s cumulative exposure to sunlight over a lifetime. The best way to protect a person’s eyes from radiation damage is to begin dispensing high-quality children sunglasses at an early age. This is true even if they don’t need prescription eyeglasses.

High-quality sunglasses are even more important for kids than they are for adults. Why? Children usually spend significantly more time outdoors than adults, increasing their exposure to ultraviolet (UV) and other solar radiation. It is estimated that 23% of lifetime exposure to UV occurs by age 18. Other researchers say nearly half of a person’s lifetime UV exposure occurs by age 18.

Also, children have large pupils and the lens of a child’s eye does not filter UV and high-energy visible (HEV) light as effectively as an adult lens. These factors allow more harmful rays to penetrate deep into the eye during childhood. Unfortunately, many parents remain unaware of the importance of sunglasses for children. According to a 2012 Vision Council survey, 74 percent of American adults said they wear sunglasses for UV protection, but only 58 percent require their children to wear them.
Here are some things to take note of before purchasing a pair of kid sunglasses.

  • 100 Percent UV Protection
There are two types of ultraviolet rays from sunlight that can damage eyes: UVA and UVB. UVA is lower energy radiation, but it can penetrate deep into the eye. UVB has higher energy, but affects only the surface of the eye. For adequate eye protection, sunglasses for children should block 100 percent UVA and UVB.

  • A Durable, Close-Fitting Frame
For outdoor sports, the best option is a separate pair of sunglasses that feature a comfortable and durable “sport” frame. The best-fitting sport frames are adequately sized to provide a wide field of view and cover the eyes fully. The frame also should fit relatively close to the face to shield the eyes from dust and debris and decrease the risk of the eyewear getting knocked off during sports and active play.

  • HEV Protection
Like UVA, high-energy visible (HEV) light can penetrate deep into the eye and increase the risk of retinal damage. HEV is also called “blue light” because it is composed of short-wavelength (380 to 500 nm) visible light that comprises the blue and violet end of the visible light spectrum. Brown or amber-colored sunglass tints usually block HEV light more effectively than other shades. Sunglasses for kids should block as much HEV as possible.

  • Impact-Resistant Lenses
Generally, polycarbonate lenses are recommended for children’s sunglasses. These lenses automatically block 100 percent UV without the need for special lens coatings, tints or treatments. “polarized aviator sunglasses” also are lighter than regular plastic lenses and provide up to 10 times more impact resistance for greater comfort and eye safety during sports and active play.

  • A Comfortable Tint
UV rays are invisible, and dark sunglasses don’t necessarily provide more UV protection than lenses with lighter tints (or even no tint at all!). As long as the lenses block 100 percent UV and significant HEV, the color and density of the lens tint are a matter of personal preference.

  • When To Wear
Be aware that clouds don’t block the sun’s UV rays. So it’s just as important for kids to wear UV-protective sunglasses on partly cloudy and hazy days as on days of full sun.

We need to teach children early the importance of wearing sunglasses – just as we teach them to brush their teeth and wear a seatbelt, so that they develop good habits that last for life

Protecting Your Vision in Polarized Aviator Sunglasses

Polarized aviator sunglasses, or "pilot's glasses", were originally developed in 1936 by Bausch & Lomb for pilots to protect their eyes while flying, thus the name aviator. This style of sunglasses is credited with being one of the first popularized styles of sunglasses to be developed. In its military usage, the sunglasses replaced the outmoded flight goggles used previously, as they were lighter, thinner, and “more elegantly designed”. Writing about the transition of aviators from military gear to a commercial product, Vanessa Brown wrote that, “The War was a revelation of the sheer might, scale, power, and horror of the modern world …which necessitated a new kind of military demeanor and gave rise to new definitions of the heroic stance which was to have a profound influence on modern fashion.

Well-made aviator sunglasses do more than make you look like a movie star. They can protect your eyes from many problems, including those caused by the sun's harmful rays.

Here are some of the benefits of sporting this classic style:

 1. Blocks UV Rays
You must always look for designer aviator sunglasses that give you 100% UVA and UVB protection. This provides full protection against the sun’s ultraviolet rays.

2. Protects From Eye Infections
Wearing good quality spectacles or sunglasses outside can protect your eyes from the germs and bacteria in the atmosphere, thereby, protecting your eyes from bacterial, fungal and viral infections.
Time spent in the sun, and whether or not sunglasses are worn may help explain why some people develop exfoliation syndrome (XFS), an eye condition that is a leading cause of secondary open-angle glaucoma and can lead to an increased risk of cataract, according to a study published in JAMA, Ophthalmology.

3. Fewer Headaches and Migraines
Tests have shown that the lenses are effective in eradicating the light that triggers pain. Even low-quality sunglasses or lenses can cause strain to the eyes leading to distortion in vision.

4. Safe Driving

While driving into the harsh and bright sunlight, sunglasses can certainly help you see well and drive more comfortably. Further, Night Vision Driving Glasses also keep your eyes protected from the strong glares of bright headlights,

To cap it off, aside from the fact that the best aviator sunglasses will make you look classic and classy, and, apart from being a summer fashion statement; it can also help in protecting our eyes from various eye problems. They protect your eyes against the sun's UV rays, which could otherwise lead to cataracts, they protect against "blue light" from the solar spectrum, which could increase your risk of macular degeneration and they lead to improve your vision so you no longer have to squint. They can also make it easier to adapt to darkness. And don’t forget that exposure to bright light can also make it more difficult to adjust to driving at night.

In a nutshell, The American Optometric Association says you should always wear sunglasses during the daylight hours to always protect your VEUs. You can also choose which style you fancy. The best aviator sunglasses can go from classic to gradient, you are also not limited to any color. Just make sure you always check if the lenses are polarized and UV protected and of course, don’t forget to always stay Shady!

THE 4 MOST ICONIC EYEGLASS STYLES

Sunglasses are a part of us. They have come a long way from being a simple piece of protection against direct sunlight to the fashion icon and promotional products they are today. Just about everyone either wears colorful lens sunglasses or has worn them at some point. The thing is, however, that it doesn’t just stop at having sunglasses. If you’re savvy about them, then you know that you can’t just wear any type of sunglasses. It all depends on the shape of your face and the way your eyes are set. It, therefore, makes sense to have some knowledge of the different types of sunglasses out there before you actually go out and get yourself a pair.

There are lots of different styles of sunglasses out there that will fit the personal brand of just about anyone. However, some are not only more popular than others, but also timeless. These are the ones that will always rhyme with most people’s faces. You’ll find representatives of each of them in our store, coming in with slight variations to fit your style. What you need to know now is what these 4 iconic styles are and who they’re for.

1.Cat Eye Style

These are some of the most recognizably rebellious styles out there. They were made by a woman, for women, and have since found a permanent place for themselves in not only the annals of history but also the displays of shops all over the world.

This design was created by AltinaSchinasi, who was looking for a style that mimicked the harlequin masks worn commonly in Venice. The idea was for the style to be both stylish and fashion-forward in a world where women’s glasses were largely being ignored.

Most of the glasses that existed for women at the time were wire-framed and really didn’t do anything to make women look good or at the very least complement their style. The design evolved over time, and darker versions came out in the ‘60s, gaining widespread popularity. All types of popular personalities donned these sunglasses, including Marilyn Monroe. The greatest part of the appeal of the ‘Cat Eye” design was how feminine it was and how good it was at bringing out the femininity in the facial features of a woman’s face.

If you’re fun, stylish, graceful, and witty, then the Cat Eye style is perfect for you.

2.Tear Drop Style

These are also commonly known as pilot’s unique reading glasses and were, as you might have guessed from the name, were originally designed for pilots. At the time, pilots relied on heavy goggles to block out the harmful rays from the sun while they were flying. This design was supposed to provide a lightweight alternative. With time, their popularity spread well beyond the aviation industry and they would be worn by huntsmen and athletes as well. The peak of their popularity was during WW2 when they were worn by perhaps the most famous army general of the time: General Douglas MacArthur.

If you have some inclinations to the military or at least movies about espionage, or some love for the aviation industry, motorcycles, and all forms of law enforcement, then these glasses will really get you in the groove. The beauty of teardrop style sunglasses is that the lens can come in just about any shade you can think of, allowing you to be as expressive with your style as you would like to be. If you’re the more subtle kind, then you will find comfort in the simple tinted teardrop style. It never goes out of vogue.

  1. Super Dark Lens Styles

These super dark sunglasses are not only stylish but are frequently sought after because of their ability to provide privacy while functioning as bright light shields. Popularized by their unique super dark tint lens, these shades are rightfully called the “womens hottest sunglasses style” and the “mens hottest sunglasses style” according to hundreds of pleased ShadyVEU shoppers worldwide.

Migraines are the third most common disease in the world, with kids also being a victim of this chronic pain. Studies show that women suffer more than men by a ratio of 85% more. With these super dark black lens, migraine suffering individuals have finally found a way to better cope with sunny days that sometimes may trigger a migraine.

This style is quite popular in the creative community so it will definitely fit you if you consider yourself to be an artistic soul.

  1. Round or Hipster Style

These glasses were almost single-handedly popularized by John Lennon. They are now a go-to style for two kinds of people, who are not always mutually exclusive: Intellectuals and rock stars. They were the iconic style of the 70s and have maintained a hold on the world of sunglasses ever since.

These glasses are more on the playful side than the professional side and so are great for you if you’re the fun-loving type that just sees life as one great adventure.

BEST SUNGLASSES FOR YOUR FACE SHAPE

We all love colorful lens sunglasses and rocking them to just about every sunny place we visit, and some not so sunny places too. While it shouldn’t be very difficult to pick out sunglasses to wear, it’s important to have some knowledge about the right sunglasses for you before you step out and get yourself a pair.

The very first step you need to take is to figure out the functional aspect of what you need. What are you looking for? Do you want polarized lenses? Do you want the lenses to be coated to ward off unwanted reflections? Ask yourself about these and many other questions to get the functional side out of the way.

Once you’re done with functionality, the next thing you should be thinking about is the aesthetics. You want a pair of glasses that go well with your face and complements your facial features. You want the best parts of your face to stand out as a result of the glasses you’re wearing. In order to achieve that effect, the golden rule is to wear glasses whose shape contrasts with the shape of your face, but not too much.

That means that your face shape obviously matters a lot. If you want to know what shape your face is, start by taking a long and hard look in the mirror.

There are a few major face shapes with almost all face shapes being variations of one or the other. These are round, square, heart, oval. We’ll tell you about the major features of each shape so you can check if you match it and then tell you the best polarized sunglasses that go with the shape.

Round Face
A round face is one where the length of the face is the same as the width. The face doesn’t actually have to look like a circle, contrary to popular opinion. However, when the length and width are roughly the same, there will definitely be a circular ‘vibe’ around the shape of the face. You don’t have to get a ruler to determine if your face is round. All you need is your fingers. If they span the same length either way, then you’re definitelyround-faced.

If you have a round face, then you should consider getting either super dark lenses or any other kind of square frames, such as pilot’s glasses. These styles are going to accentuate your cheekbones and make them look more prominent. Whatever you do, however, you should stay as far away from round frames as you can. The only thing such frames will do is make your face look even rounder than it already is.

Square Face
A square face is one where the most prominent feature is the strong jaw. Your forehead will also be quite prominent. In fact, in the ideal square face, the forehead and the jaw are of roughly the same width.

When you have a square face, what you want to do is soften all of those straight lines and sharp edges, and the best way to do that is to get round frames. They basically balance out your face. You can also go for other types of frames that have rounded or curved corners. The trick is to make sure that whatever frames you go for are proportional to the size of your face. If they’re not, you’re definitely going to look ridiculous. Basically, the frames should extend beyond the widest part of your face, giving your face a bit of a rounder profile.

Whatever you do, do not go for anything that is either boxy or angular. It’s going to exaggerate your square features and make you look like a caricature of yourself.

Heart Shaped Face
You know that you have a heart-shaped face if your forehead is wide, but your chin is narrow or small. If you have such a face, you will be surprised to know what kind of frame suits your face shape the best: pilot’s glasses. The thing about a heart-shaped face is that you’re not supposed to get frames that contrast the shape; rather, you’re supposed to get frames that mimic the shape. Teardrop frames do this best because the top is wider than the bottom, which tends to taper.

You should make sure the glasses are proportional to your face. Go for frames that match your features. Dainty features call for dainty frames, and large prominent features call for large frames.

Oval Face
The oval face is the jackpot when it comes to face shapes. With this shape, your face is thin and long, with a forehead that is only slightly wider than your chin. You can wear pretty much any style of frame with such a face shape. You could go for cat eyes or hipster style frames, or pilot’s glasses, or even super dark sunglasses.

Whatever you go for, make sure it is proportional to the features of your face. Remember that proportionality is king here. Do not go for large frames if you have dainty features and vice versa. You should also generally try to avoid frames that are too wide for your face. They should be the same width as your face to give it a balanced look.

DO POLARIZED SUNGLASSES REALLY MAKE A DIFFERENCE?

First of all, what are Polarized Sunglasses and why do we need it?
Not all sunglasses block 100% of UV rays. The lens material and coatings applied to the lens determine the amount of UV protection super dark sunglasses provide, not the color and darkness of a sunglass tint. Polycarbonate plastic sunglass lenses absorb essentially all UV radiation, with the added advantage of extreme impact resistance.

If you’re the type of person who enjoys chillin’ by the beach, hiking up a trail, going on roadtrips and exploring unknown territories in broad daylight, just like any #ShadyWoman or #ShadyMan, this might be of good use to you! Consider driving, especially on road trips in the summer: horizontal rays of light constantly bounce off the road, increasing eye fatigue and discomfort. You can instantly reduce this glare with polarized glasses. Any activity that involves rapid changes in lighting conditions, such as hunting under the heavy canopy of a forest, may benefit from polarized glasses, since they also partially eliminate the glare of light directly on the glasses.

Great quality, proper fitting, UV-protective sunglasses with polarized lenses in combination with other features can also enhance your outdoor activities and sport experiences, whether you enjoy boating, fishing, in-line skating, mountain biking, skiing, hiking, kayaking, waterskiing, jet skiing, windsurfing, sailing, driving or just simply relaxing.

WE’RE HERE TO PROTECT YOUR VEUS
ShadyVEU offers a variety of Polarized Sunglasses designs that increases visual comfort, enhances clarity of vision, reduces eye strain, conveys colors faithfully & diminishes reflections and glare. We also have oversized designer sunglasses, round frame sunglasses for men and women, flat top sunglasses, super dark sunglasses and a lot more to select from.

Sunlight is absorbed or reflected in many directions. Sunlight reflected from a horizontal surface, like land, water or hoods of cars is often reflected back horizontally, producing a very strong glare. For us, it means that ground reflection.

Normal sunglasses provide basic protection against both vertical and horizontal UV rays. However, it doesn’t lessen the glare from reflected horizontal rays.

LET’S GET THE FACTS STRAIGHT
Best polarized sunglasses have a built-in, laminated filter that permits only vertical light rays to pass through, and almost completely blocks horizontal rays to eliminate glares. This is most noticeable when boating or fishing because you’ll be able to suddenly see through the surface, when normally you would see the reflections from the sun and sky above.

Polarized lenses are most commonly associated with sunglasses, though there are normal prescription glasses with polarized coating as well. If you need the power of polarized lenses without the help of sun protection, consult your optometrist about this.
